Since returning from the great-land of Europe, it's been the HARDEST thing everrr to not talk about the experience. It's obvious nobody wants to hear about it 100x a day, so all these pent up europe memories come spewing out when slightly intoxicated. Case in fact, last night's disasterous talk-a-thon. GAH-
This year's alcohol consumption has been borderline non-existent, so the few times we (my friends and i) do go out, we go OUUTT... bleh..
Our prof was nice enough to take us all out for drinks and talk about chattermouth.. honestly, i could not shut up!! thinking about it today makes me want to *bambam* my forehead against a computer screen... a;lkdjf;akd;
NOTE TO SELF: never drink in public with people i do not know very well.

smart people? dumb people? people.
one of the greatest mistakes made in today's education system is the need to classify students as 'smart, average, dumb'.
everyone excels at something. correction. anyone can be taught how to do something, it's a matter of opportunity and practice. case in point, Lewis S. Ranieri- according to the book Liar's Poker he was a mailroom boy at Salomon bros. when he was yanked to the trading floor. subsequently, he fathered mortgage finances and other dangerous instruments that were at the forefront of this economic mess.
Entering my final year in university was a massive slap in the face. "smart" people aren't all that 'smart'. they're disciplined & informed. that is a skill. but again, everyone is smart/excels at something!! Being smart at school does not mean automatic success, on the flip-side, having average/sub-par grades is not a death sentence!! Everyone is good at something. Looking back, alot of my friends from high school who were considered 'stupid' are now pursuing jobs in investment banking, real estate, etc... it didn't matter that their grades weren't as high as others, the same market information is available to everyone and they chose to go after it.
find your passion and go for it.
that is success.
find it and run. don't EVER let anybody tell you something cannot be done.
school's second flaw: discouraging innovation.
there is ALWAYS a way. you just have to find it.

i suck at blogging...
this is hard work. epic failure. my adventures are recorded in a separate book entitled "gloria's adventure book"
"Who am I?
That the eyes that see my sin
Would look on me with love
And watch me rise again.
Who am I?
That the voice that calmed the sea,
Would call out through the rain,
And calm the storm in me.
Not because of who I am,
But because of what you've done.
Not because of what I've done,
But because of who you are."
its been a long time...

man i suck at these things!
darn,
the last time i posted anything i was in paris... it's now a week and a half later and i'm posting a new blog from the exact same location! PARIS :)
Finally got around to checking out the Eiffel Tower this time around- at first, i'm not gonna lie, it was like "wtf... i walked all this way for this thing?!" it wasn't very pretty... it kinda looked like an alien thing in all of it's coppery glory. Eiffel Tower=alien ship, i know right? Well, after walking a bit further into the garden area, that's when it all changed! No joke, it was like that Annie song..something about the sun coming out and what not... well anyways, you know what i mean.. the sun peeped out from behind the clouds and it was like *BAM* there it was.. the Eiffel Tower in all of it's legit glory!
It reminded me of the scene from the movie "Sabrina" when she's blossoming into somebody new; it all takes place in front of the eiffel tower- i tried finding the spot she took her pics in :P
On a funnier note, there was a MOB of tweens hanging around the base of the tower- seriously, these girls were SCREAMING at the top of their lungs when the vans drove by...you'd think maybe it was brangelina or even nicole richie? NAHH... it was the one and only...*drumroll* from stratford ontario, JUSTIN BIEBER ...*pause*... yes.. justin bieber.. narcis was so turned off by it haha
I seriously love paris and would LOVE to work here one day...the only thing that's not true about this city is that people find love when they come here; hollywood has done a seriouss number on quite a few girls !
OH BIGGEST NEWS EVER EVER EVER CANADA>RUSSIA!
WWWWWWWWHHHATTTTTT
we were suppose to hit up the "great canadian bar" to watch the whole game but we ended up streaming it from the girls' apartment.. SO FRUSTRATING BUT OMG SO WORTH IT!
team canada=team amazeballs..

lazy sunday afternoon
"hansol, he's so hot right now, hansol"
reporting live from my bed,
Good after noon everyone :) Today is yet another day in Strasbourg and I must say it's quite a bore- this could be the result of being plagued with some mutated form of the fluu!! coughs that sound like hacks, a voice that resembles that of a 50-year old hag with a stoma and lungs that feel like they're on fiyahhh.. so sexy... anyways, i gave my buckley's away so i've been popping Tylenol Flu Extra strength for the past few days.. things seem to be getting better! hurrahh
today=super lazy day... it started off with a lazy morning doing some laundry and checking to see if Agnes had passed away somewhere in the apartment (unfortunately she was nowhere to be found.. damn) After checking highlights and eating some food , ZOOOOOOOOOOOLANDER enough said.
Tomorrow will be the start of our road trip- woohooo.. 2 cars, 6 girls + 2 boys, stellar times
Hopefully we'll be able to find a REAL club in one of the countries we visit :)
On a serious note, RIP Brendan Burke...
until next time!

testing 1, 2, 3...
test test test...
alrightey here we go-
I was told to set-up an exchange blog before dipsetting from our 'Home & Native Land' (for those of you who haven't figured it out yet...that would be Canada BOOOOYA). Happy to report that a month later, 'I got 'er done son!'
Where to start- after a 7 hour flight sitting next to a PE homeboy (who I'm pretty will be on CNN for a Bernie Madoff scheme v2.0) we landed in Amsterdam. It was a pretty sweet feeling to walk around and finally feel my ass again-that was a beautiful moment...haha anyways, leaving Canada for an almost 12 hour journey across the world, it seemed practical at the time to wear comfy clothes (i.e uggs, leggings, and an oversized hoodie) WELL APPARENTLY people like to wear designer gear and the very word 'uggs' does not exist in fashion vocabulary.
But that's ok- why you ask? because I AM CANADIAN (thanks Molson...you did good)- moving along , once we landed in Strasbourg, this is what went through my brain: *ahem* What the &*%$ am i doing here???????
Fast Forward 1 week: All was good! the fml moment passed (almost all of it anyways)
A few things that are very different in Strasbourg from Toronto:
- everything opens later but closes hella early: Hours of Operation 10AM-7:30PM
- most shops close in the middle of the day for a few hours... that was super inconvenient, i got physically upset about it.. haha
- we walk EVERYWHERE, it's a beautiful thing...
- it's normal to eat a baguette a day (all that walking does not help the baguette-eating.. trust)
-you can go to a 'club' wearing the exact same clothes you wore during the day...one of the bigger HUH?! moments in my life
- after a late night of shenanigans, there's nowhere to go eat- serious BALLS...i miss street meat & burrito boys....*sigh* speaking of which, a friend of mine and I decided we should open up our own little cart or a Burritto Boys here in strasbourg ;)
- the city centre is really cute, it looks like the little town from Beauty & the Beast
- no skyscrapers...none, nada, zerroooo
ONTO THE ALPS!
Hands down last weekend was the freaking BOMBBBBBBBBB. Riding through fresh powder on a real freaking mountain! HELLO!!!!!!!! BUMP IT!!!!!! The 9 hour train ride was worth it, it' so hard to explain the feeling you get from getting smacked in the face with a picturesque view like that- actually, wait, it's kinda like going pee after holding it in for so long that you seriously think your bladder might explode, that kinda happy is the same kinda happy we experienced. FJA;DSJFA;LKSDJFA;LSFD so gooooooooood!
Élise's family friend lived on the resort up at Les Arcs and he was kind enough to take us around the mountain for a solid 5 hours- It was INCREDIBLE! Riding through unmarked terrains and landing in soft powder has changed snowboarding forever; It was actually fun to wipe out/to catch an edge because falling didn't hurt!! the only hard part was trying to butter through the knee-high powder on a flat trail... but whatevs! great ass/abs workout ;)
one of the hardest things about being here is not having Hockey Night in Canada...wait one second, may we please have a moment of silence for Brian burke:
Phaneuf, Giguere, Aulie, Sjostrom
(and i guess you could say + alisha cuthbert)
Goodbye white, toskala, blake, and the other guy but especially GOODBYE to Toskala.. it's about time. YE YE YEEEEEEEE
Speaking of hockey, a friend from school invited me along to watch a hockey game in the french league. damn son, they play the game quite differently! they're all very nice to each other and show huge amounts of respect: hardly any cross-checking, high-sticking, no sneaky deaky hooks, 0 fights. It was really interesting to watch hockey played for the game itself and not the entertainment value. To clarify, the NHL knows that fights and dirty tricks drive viewers to watch the sport, so players naturally play a bit more .. uhm... i dont know the word, but they play with more 'brute'ness rather then with their brain--more Domi's, McCabe's, Tucker's--Over here they play smarter, it's obvious they're thinking--...does that make sense?
It's pretty hard to blog about the past month in one post.. so ill try my best to make it not so condensed by being a frequent BLOGGAAA haha sorry i started getting boreD
